Uniting
Communication was created in 1999 primarily to provide Internet access
and services to the Uniting Church and it's affiliates at affordable
rates. Part of this drive to connect the Church is the availability
of free accounts - a great starting point for those dipping their
toes into the Internet for the first time.
Behind
Uniting Communication is the Revd Geoff Hurst - the Uniting Church
Minister in Karratha. In 1997 Geoff created Karratha Internet Support
Services, providing much needed Internet Access for Pilbara residents.
In 1999 a need was identifed for a Perth based dial-in server, so
travelling customers could access their E-mail etc from both Perth
and Karratha. This created the opportunity to provide services to
all Perth based people, particularly the Uniting Church, and hence
Uniting Communication was born.
